In the month of August, all private and government banks operating in the country will remain closed for a total of 15 days. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India , banks will be closed for six days due to second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays in August. Similarly, banks will also remain closed for another nine days throughout the month on account of various regional festivals.

However, the holidays will be applicable in only those states where the festivals are observed. The dates when banks shall remain closed over the month are 1st, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st August. The bank holidays are listed by the Central government, state governments, and Union Territories under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

As per Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in the month of July. However, online banking activities will continue to work on these days. Of the 15 days, 9 are as per Reserve Bank of India holiday calendar list while the remaining are weekends.
